I Do at the Old Courthouse

The Old Courthouse offers a limited number of elopement reservations during pre-selected dates. Due to the limited number of reservations, all confirmed and paid reservations are non-refundable.

  • Is there someone on site for the day of to make sure everything goes smoothly?
Yes! A member of our staff will be on site to make sure that your day is perfect. They will have the room prepared for you, all of the package items displayed, and will greet you at your scheduled appointment time.
  • Where can I get ready before the ceremony so that my spouse doesn't see me?
There is no designated bridal/groom’s suite to prepare for the ceremony. However, public ladies’ and men’s restrooms are located on opposite ends of the building on the second floor. A unisex, single-occupant lavatory is available on the first floor if you prefer to wait on a separate floor until you walk down the aisle.
  • Is there music or sound equipment available?
A small bluetooth-enabled speaker is available upon request to play music during your elopement. Please note, venue staff are not responsible for playing music during the ceremony or providing a device to play music.
  • We didn't see the date we wanted on the website, is the package only offered on certain days?
Elopement ceremonies require the help of several local vendors, so at this time, the package is only offered on preselected dates. If you would like to learn more about renting the Commissioners’ Parlor or Vine Suite on another date, please call our Sales Manager at 812.484.5848 for more information.
  • Are there any weekend elopement dates available?
At this time, we only offer the package on preselected weekdays. The packages are not available on Saturday or Sunday.
  • Can I use my own officiant?
Most definitely! However, we are not able to provide any reimbursement for package items that are not used. Please let your sales manager know in advance if you do not require the provided officiant.
  • Can I use my own photographer?
Of course! However, we are not able to provide any reimbursement for package items that are not used. Please let your sales manager know in advance if you do not require the provided photographer.
  • What are the cake flavor options?
We order our cakes from Just Rennie’s. Our flavor options are strawberry, chocolate (with chocolate cream cheese icing), lemon and red velvet. We do not offer a gluten free option. You are welcome to provide your own cake or cupcakes from a licensed bakery. However, we are not able to provide any reimbursement for package items that are not used.
  • Can I accommodate more than the suggested number of guests?
Unfortunately, you cannot. The attendance listed with the package is the maximum allowable capacity for the room under the fire code. We understand it can be very hard to limit your guest list. If you are interested in learning more about our larger rental spaces, please call our Sales Manager at 812.484.5848 for more information.
  • Can I hold an elopement ceremony in your Ballroom?
Ceremonies are only available in the spaces detailed in the descriptions. We are not able to relocate the ceremony or decor to an alternate rental space. If you are interested in another date or rental space, please call our Sales Manager at 812.484.5848 for more information.
  • Can I receive a refund for items and services not used from my elopment package?
Our packages are designed to take the stress out of planning your special day! However, we understand some couples like a more custom touch for their celebration. Couples are welcome to bring their own officiant, photographer, bouquet or cake (from a licensed bakery) in place of those included with the package. Please note, we are not able to provide any reimbursement or money back for package items that are not used.
  • Can I have a wedding party?
Absolutely! We host our elopements in some of our cozier rental spaces, so we recommend you keep your wedding party on the smaller side to give everyone room. If you are considering a wedding party, please make sure you include your attendants in your final guest count so you don’t exceed the room capacity.
